Mexican Sopes!

Sopes is a traditional Mexican dish consisting of a corn tortilla topped with savoury ingredients, depending on the region. Join Martha, a self-taught Latin American cuisine afficionado, as she shares her expertise and passion for cooking. In this class, you will learn how to prepare handmade tortillas from scratch, including the traditional pellizcazos (peh-ese-khas-sos) crimping technique popular in Central and South Mexico, complete with traditional ground beef and tasty toppings.

Martha Rivera has spent the last 25 years cultivating her chef-like skills. From baking sourdough breads and decorating cakes to creating dishes from around the globe, she has enjoyed an amazing culinary journey. This is a unique opportunity to learn from their culinary knowledge, hear their inspiring stories, and provide valuable feedback as they refine their skills in preparation for future classes. • Although the class is free, we kindly ask that you RSVP to ensure we have enough space and ingredients for everyone.

• While these community classes are free to attend, donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
